Why Democracy is dead

So only about 59,000 of 675,000 residents (9%!) voted in the City State’s Attorney election. The same percentage voted in the County Executive race. In D.C., barely 20% voted in a major mayoral election. I’m sure it’s no different in local elections across the country.

Yet we as a society go apeshit over some election in DE (a state few live in), when two charlatans hold an event in Alaska (a state fewer live in), and/or when a religion building a mosque in the nation’s largest city (a city a lot, but not all live in); yet refuse to vote in local elections. You know, elections that actually effect our lives.

It’s a complete disgrace.
